VALLEY HOUSING STARTS IN APRIL UP BY 224% FROM SAME TIME
LAST YEAR -- MAY 20, 2010: Appleton, WI - Valley Home
Builders Association (VHBA) announced today that new housing starts
in the Fox Valley increased by 224% April 2010, compared to April
2009. Year-to-date housing starts are up by 151% in 2010 compared

Fox Valley Stone & Brick to host "Cookout for
Kids"
The "Cookout for Kids", a fundraiser for the Children's
Hospital of the Fox Valley Foundation, will be held at the Fox
Valley Stone & Brick showroom in Neenah on July 23. Download

FASTSIGNS named "2009 Business Operator of the
Year"
At the 2010 FASTSIGNS Convention in Austin, TX, FASTSIGNS
International, Inc. cited the owner of Appleton's FASTSIGNS, Doug
Brauer, as its 2009 Business Operator of the Year. Doug and his
wife Linda first opened their FASTSIGNS business in 1996; FASTSIGNS
has been a VHBA member since 2003.
Schmidt Bros. Custom Homes named general contractor for
2010 WI Trend Home
The Wisconsin Builders Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit
organization in Madison and serving the residential construction
industry statewide, selected Appleton-area builder Ed Schmidt, CGB,
CAPS, CGP, of Schmidt Bros. Custom Homes, to serve as the general
contractor for its 2010 Wisconsin Trend Home. This is
a new home that will serve as an educational and research tool
for housing professionals and for the general public regarding
green building techniques. The home will be sold at fair market
value and the proceeds donated to the WBA Foundation to fund future
education and research projects for the benefit of the housing
industry in Wisconsin.
