Contractor Education

In Wisconsin, builders/remodelers must hold Dwelling Contractor and Dwelling Contractor Qualifier credentials.
The Dwelling Contractor credential simply requires a form and payment; the Dwelling Contractor Qualifier credential requires initial educational courses as well as 12 hours of State-approved continuing education every two years.

VHBA offers courses in both initial certification and continuing education for member and non-member contractors.

Upcoming VHBA classes are posted here -- check back often as classes are added regularly...

Take any of the four courses here for continuing education for the Dwelling Contractor Qualifier credential, or take all four courses to achieve the 12 hours of credit needed to obtain the Dwelling Contractor Qualifier credential:
Ethics & the Construction Contractor, 2.5 credits
Uniform Dwelling Code, 2 credits
Contracts & Lien Law, 3 credits
Building Science, 4.5 credits

These four courses will be held at the VHBA Member Center in the fall. Details will be available soon.
